From Office Corridors to the Island Breeze: Şengül & Tolga’s Story

For years we ran through the endless grey corridors of corporate life, and every tired evening we asked the same question: "If we ever had a place truly our own, what scent would we want to wake up to?"

That question led us to a quiet plot in Bozcaada's Rum (Greek) Quarter. Honouring the soul of its stones, we built Bozcaada Masalı — every brick carrying twenty years of our effort and our love for the island. When we opened in 2024, it was far more than an 8-room hotel; it was the most intimate love letter of our shared life.

Minimalist Design: The Purity of White and the Positive Energy of Yellow

In our design we brought together marble and wood, representing the island’s natural character. In choosing our colours we were guided by two feelings of Bozcaada:

White: the island’s unspoiled nature, its history, purity and cleanliness;
Yellow: the sun, positive energy, the joy of living and summer. Alongside our yellow wooden shutters, we blended our hotel — surrounded by bougainvillea, olive trees, our lovely geraniums and other flowers — into a distinctive design in harmony with Bozcaada’s romantic architecture.

For us, breakfast is not a “service” but the art of beginning a new day. Each morning, breathing in the scent of the island alongside the sun that greets us and our geraniums, you will wake to:

Seasonal homemade jams we prepare with our own hands from the freshest local fruit (poppy, crisp courgette, strawberry, carrot, apricot),
Fresh homemade fritters and pastries whose aroma fills the whole street,
And a table laid with famous Ezine cheese, Çanakkale tomatoes and the freshest island flavours from local producers.

We welcome you not as customers, but as guests who share in our twenty-year dream. We greet you in person. Whispering that the loveliest sunset is watched at the Polente Lighthouse, telling you of the untouched coves of Çayır, Habbele, Sulubahçe, Ayazma, Beylik, Ayana, Akvaryum and Poyraz Harbour — for us this is, beyond any general approach, the sharing of an experience. Your satisfaction is, for us, a personal priority rather than a professional goal.

A Sustainable Love: Our Debt to Nature

We want to leave Bozcaada as pristine for future generations. As an environmentally conscious boutique hotel, we keep chemical use to a minimum and manage our energy and water with care. We are grateful to the guests who share this sensitivity.
